Oil tasting in Abruzzo: what to expect

A tasting in the company is not just a series of glasses: it connects aromas and flavors to the olive grove, the cultivars, the harvest and the people who produce the oil.

A tasting in the company is not just a series of glasses: it connects aromas and flavors to the olive grove, the cultivars, the harvest and the people who produce the oil.

The arrival and the story of the place

Cascina Bruno is located in Elice, in the hinterland of the province of Pescara. The visit starts from the company: olive grove, landscape and workmanship give context to what will end up in the glass.

You don't need to be an expert. The most useful questions are simple: what do I smell, which oil do I prefer and on which dish would I use it?

How do you taste it

We pour small quantities and compare aromas, bitterness and spiciness. The bread from Elice then helps to bring the oil from sensorial evaluation to actual pairing.

Between two monovarietals such as Borea and Majia the difference is immediate: Leccino softer, Coratina more intense. The other oils complete the map.

Basic and Premium Visit

The booking page indicates a Basic Visit costing 15 euros per person with tour, oil tasting and cosmetics trial. The 25 euro Premium Visit adds a more complete tasting with local products.

Prices and availability may change: always check the Visits page when booking.

How to prepare

Avoid very intense perfumes before tasting, wear shoes suitable for a farm and report allergies or dietary needs in advance.

Book the day, time and number of people: it allows us to prepare the route and dedicate time to the group's questions.
