Cruelty-free extraction of snail slime: the MullerOne method

For us, “cruelty-free” must describe a visible process: snails managed with care, controlled stimulation, collection of the secretion and return of the animals to their habitat.

For us, “cruelty-free” must describe a visible process: snails managed with care, controlled stimulation, collection of the secretion and return of the animals to their habitat.

Before extraction

The snails come from our farm and are checked before the process. The MullerOne machine allows you to work in an environment designed for drool collection and animal management.

A nebulization with ozone-enriched water contributes to cleaning and preparation of the next phase.

Stimulation and collection

Stimulation occurs through nebulization of a balanced solution containing citric acid. The objective is to encourage natural secretion without resorting to aggressive methods.

The collected slime then follows the expected path to become cosmetic raw material: collection does not mean a finished product, because filtration, controls and formulation are needed.

The return to the farm

At the end, the snails are carefully managed and returned to their habitat. It is the step that makes the principle concrete: the animal continues its cycle.

During the visits we explain the machine and distinguish what can be seen directly from the subsequent laboratory phases.

From the field to the cosmetics

The quality of the raw material begins on the farm: nutrition, environment and management have an impact even before extraction. The cosmetic formulation then adds ingredients with different functions and a specific evaluation.

For this reason we avoid presenting slime as a miracle substance. It is a cosmetic ingredient that must be used in correctly formulated products and according to the label.

Frequently asked questions

Are snails killed?

No. In our process they are brought back to the farm after extraction.

What does MullerOne use?

The process includes nebulization with ozonated water and a balanced solution containing citric acid.

Is the collected slime already a cosmetic?

No. It is a raw material that must undergo controls and formulation.

Can I see the process?

The company visit includes the explanation and demonstration of the machine according to availability.
